Some progress pics of the cage. Nice and tight to the body, just the way I like it

Can also see my new plate on the car. The plain 86 plate is for sale, but the guy wants $50k for it! Went with III86, trying to be a bit like the JDM guys, but they can have dashes, where as we can't. Also, this is my 3rd ae86 so it sort of makes another meaning of the III. Because of that, I also bought IIII86 for the new 86, as that'll be my 4th.

Decided on cutting and raising the rear sus points as it couldn't be wound down any further. Will give about an inch more low. Front's have heaps more adjustment and can just be dialed down to suit.

More cage pics..

Just the door wishbones to do.

Then dummy fit the Z33 box, mod tunnel to suit. Then off to the painters later in the week. Doors/bumpers/fenders/hatch are all prepped and being painted today.

Tunnel done for the Z33 box. Also bought a box for $620, score.

Willwood Pedal box arrived the other day, so fitted them. Going to move the go pedal so the pedals are better spaced.

Some more tidying - filling firewall holes, removing couple of little bits of sound deadening, then its off to the painters later today.

Been a busy week. Moving house is never fun.

Fitted some of the new tyres to the new rims. Achilles 123's (Semi slick) in 195/50/15. Rim is 15x8 - 8 offset. Went with this size as current wheels are 15x7+0, with a 25mm spacer. The new rim with no spacer, will pretty much sit where the 15x7 did with the spacer. (4mm further in to be precise.)

I ordered some new hub centric rings as well. When I took it to the track I was getting a lot of vibration at speed. Removing the spacers and running hub rings should solve this issue. Bought the rings from http://www.hubcentric-rings.com/ Pretty fast shipping and was a fair price. Forgot to take a picture of them.

Car still isn't painted. As it was being prepped, small issues were found. Little patches of rust here and there. Also some previous half-ass'd repairs. Decided to spend the coin and get these all sorted prior to paint.

Car as it sits this afternoon.

Was originally going to go white inside. But, after talking to Drummy (the painter), decided it was going to be too bright. Then thought about black, but after seeing the black on the bumpers I though it would be too much, and also the car would get quite hot. So, decided on a gunmetal/battleship grey for the inside.

Outside and engine bay will be white. Bumpers black. White is Toyota Super White (040) and black is Toyota Black (201)

Fenders/bumpers/lip/flares all painted. Not buffed yet, these are just straight off the gun.

Car is getting painted over the weekend. Hopefully by Monday its back to SURFAB.

Motor is still at Caraid. Should have this back end of next week, or early the week after.

Luckily we've got a spare Beams to put in the bay next week. This way we can make up the exh.manifold, intercooler mounting and piping, and the plenum to go over the quad ITB's; while the actual motor is still at Caraid.

I'm off to Australia next week, so I won't see much of this happening. Don't leave till Monday arvo, so will get a peak at the paint before I go.

More parts arrived..

Brought back a few more parts that were going on a previous S15 build, but I'll just sell them off now. Not before I opened everything up and taxed all the stickers.
