It's the F-108 or F-108S.
The clip is a peace-of-mind thing. I have a Fumoto on my RallyX WRX without the clip and it has never opened or leaked. |

So you fit a valve that makes it easy to drain the oil but for peace of mind you have to add an additional clip to it? That sounds retarded to me.
Put a spanner on the plug and unscrew it, as if by magic it releases. Screw, spanner and its closed. Unless you are doing an oil change every month. |

I have installed the valve on all my Subarus and have never had a problem. Its a small price for so much convenience and you don't need the nipple. :happy0180:

It seems to be well designed, that is why I questioned the extra hose clamps etc. Its not like an 86 will be used for offroad racing.

i just got my Fumoto valve in the mail last night. I also ordered the clip but after playing around with the valve i don't think i'm gonna use the clip. The valve is already "hard" to open. If there's anything that's gonna accidentally open my valve, then i probably have bigger problems to worry about.

Fumoto valve correct torque?
So the car's owner manual says the drain plug should be torqued to 29 ft-lb, but on the Fumoto valve site it recommends 18 ft-lb. Which one should it torque it to?

Anyway, I went with tighten by hand, then tighten with crescent for another quarter. Done. Oil pans and the Fumoto are pretty strong - it'll take plenty of abuse, so just get it on tight and watch for leaks over the next few days. If it leaks, tighten it some more. If it doesn't, call it a day. |

Just not sure which torque spec i should go with. Fumoto said 18 ft-lb, owner manual says 29 ft-lb for the OEM drain plug. |
