I've seen 285's square on stock body car

I stand corrected, it was actually a 265/40/18 on a 18x9.5 +38 wheel...so even bigger tire. It did rub a bit on the fender liner. The car was on stock suspension then.

We put some KW v3's i had on out there afterwards but even at the highest setting it wasn't gonna happen with the 265/40/18's and wheel setup lol

I'm curious as to the lap times... I got friends bugging me to take our shop car to CVR tomorrow.

PM me if you'd rather not post publicly.

I'll try to dig up the lap times and pm them you. FWIW we put the car back on the stock rims/tires after swapping the KW's and ran it again. They were worth a consistent 4 seconds on stock tires/wheels.

So what is the widest you can go in the front and the rear on these cars?

Depends on your wheel offset. If you go with a low(?) offset wheel, it should stick out more (poke) and you'll be able to get a wider wheel/tire combo on.

From what I've seen, 245 seems to be the widest front tire anyone runs, with 265's in the rear not out of the question. Again, you COULD find a way to go wider, but that requires more work.

I have pictures of a car with 285/30/18's front and rear...flush no poke. Thats the most i've seen on a stock body.

Would 285/35/18 work in the rear while being flush and not having to run much camber?

I couldn't tell you..the 285/30 seemed tight. That was on a 18x10 wheel all around. Custom wheels so it wasn't an off the shelf offset.

And that was without it being lowered at all correct?
