Crawford and Cobbs, never heard of them. Must be only good in USA

What so you can void your warranty on the 1st day, good luck with that.

Oh really, show me 1 official document that says this is a production model???

You guys who are sticking with the FA20 should be very happy that Subaru are letting the aftermarket get a handle on what needs to be done sooner, rather than later.
Most cars have more than enough room for 33% more fuel stock, maybe 50% depending on the safety margin. Plus port fuel injectors aren't THAT hard to upgrade. Probably can find stock injectors from another car with plenty of room for a N/A 2.0L

I'd love to help out a countryman KFC, but you are ignorant.

Cobb is basically similar to Chiptorque but in the USA. A while ago they recruited the top guy involved in the Subaru open source software community, which leads the world in tuning Subaru engines. With Bill on board, they'll have this thing sorted in no time.

And Crawford do some good stuff. Some very good stuff.

Of course so do we.

Finally, car warranties are like wives, cost you lots of money and spoil your fun. The sooner you ditch 'em, the better off you'll be.

having 8 injectors to play with on a 4 cylinder is going to be interesting.

I didn't say it couldn't be done, far from it. It will need some research, which your post full of words like "most" "maybe" "depending" and "probably" kind of confirms.

My point was that it's a good thing that the companies who will be flogging the parts you'll most probably maybe probably be needing, depending on a few things .. are getting a head start on that research.

FWIW I have a Subaru full of E85 sitting in the garage and a draw full of my own and customer's injectors from just such research.

it may be finished as ive seen a few pic on the forum with the 86 on a production line, many 86's before and after it being built, there will most likely be a large initial stock to satisfy the racing teams and forum people that have been waiting ages for this car... then a slow leak while it gains public intrest, in reality most of the owners will be car enthusiasts and a good 30% - 45% will be (looks cool and its affordable ill take it!) during the first year

My local Subaru dealer sells Cobb handhelds and lets you go up to stage 2 with full warranty. They even sell the intake/downpipe if you want a sure-fire warranty.

IMHO, all fuel upgrades will consist of replacing the port injectors with higher flowing models. Leave the direct injector mapping stock and alter the port injector maps. One less thing to deal with.

Not to mention the port injectors are cheaper and easier to replace.

Mazda 3 comes with 14:1 (13:1 in U.S. for cheap gas from Wal-Mart) DI engines. For just DI 12.5:1 in this car is really low. Even lower if it gets tuned for E85. E85 tune with supercharger will be perfect! Even just normal E85 tune with injectors from 3.5L V6 will do pretty well. Not sure about the fuel pump.

This man makes total sense.

Heck, I could actually see removing the direct injectors, blocking the holes off, removing the fuel line and returning to a traditional style piston shape (and lowering the CR). But not sure how the cam profiles would match up.

At that point though, it'd be easier to retrofit an older engine.
