For the K&N which side face the cabin? The flat side or the puffy part that sticks out?

Someone correct if I'm wrong. On the factory and K&N filters one of the corners is a squared and all of the rest are rounded. With that squared side it will only go on one way to seal and allow the air box to shut correctly. That squared side should go down and to the passenger side if I remember correctly.

But does the puffy padding go towards the cabin? Or facing the bumper?

I just checked mine to confirm you have fitted it alright. The other point, that's really the most important one, is that it filters so well. I don't know how long you had the OEM filter in before the Perrin but mine went in almost straight away and it's spotless after the filter. Wipe it with a white tissue and it's still clean spotless. |

Yup had it on wrong ... this is why Perrin should've included some type of instructions (yes I'm serious ). I was thinking the mesh was to prevent debris damage to the form but what sierra mentioned above makes sense.

I agree with you. All the drop in filters should have it clearly explained which way it fits. Once you know, it's obvious but I thought the same as you, with the mesh, at first and felt a dill when the penny dropped.
