I don't know. The engine is suppose to be pretty far back and mounted very low as it is.

^ That. Looks like (from the schematic showing how low/far back the engine is mounted) it would be easier to mount a turbo in front of the engine than under it.

That, to me, doesnt make good cost cutting sense.
It looks great from a birds eye perspective, but look how it gets lost at the back from a typical perspective- add some dust and grime and it'll disappear!

Depending on how much boost you are going to run, a top mount would be fine for a low boost application.

2010'+ Legacy GT has a new front mount turbo. It is very possible.

I run 15psi thru the stock top mount intercooler on my hot air pumping supercharged MINI with no issues.

ok not sure if no one realises it but a top mount doesnt make alot of sense here, with no hood scoop to feed air to it for one, and also the fact that the TB is front facing unlike most every stock turbo subaru it would mean alot unnecessary plumbing. The Front facing TB is a blessing for guys that want to go turbo becuz unlike many EJ guys who have to make custom intakes for the benefits of front facing TB get much shorter plumbing, you would have it standard
