This is the best mod for spirited driver once a while

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXz7lJhlFC0"]Initial D AMV : AE86 vs EK9 - Forever Young HD "ON" [720p] - YouTube[/ame]

& put other Ini-D OST and blast it! It'll give you 20hp (in your mind) & you might able to do in-air hairpin jump!

On serious note... prob for me, brake pad upgrades

Seriously, though, based on what many are saying, the very first thing I'd do would be brake fluid upgrade. People say consistently that the brakes in these cars overheat easily. After that, brake pads.

Best mod would be a user mod.

But anyways, you want performance mods so a new intake and exhaust would improve the experience. Otherwise, you need to ask yourself what you think the car is lacking.

I would say coilovers or springs depending on your budget. You will feel that a lot more than any other mods. The mild amount of power you gain from a tune, exhaust or intake are not super noticeable in the butt dyno.

Plus there is very little warranty hassle from springs or coils. With a tune you could run into large PITA if you have an engine issue. The exhaust not so much of warranty issue. Intakes can be taken off easily.

Do you have any of these mods? and if so please list whose youre running cause I for sure feel more power running different maps + pipes etc.

If factory pipes vs. oversized aftermarket pipes didnt flow better would they sell?
same with tunes, do you suggest the dyno graphs lie about what a tune alone does? vendors who show gains after installing their aftermarket headerback systems must be full of shit huh? dynos also are useless.

ok, LOL, all my mods are for sale, I'm going back to stock. But gonna get me some coil overs...

I don't know much in this area.

Can you explain how a pulley would make a significant improvement to the FR-S?

First, I have a set of coils and rims on the car. I have TEIN flex and Rays Gram Light 57X rims.

Second you are not getting the point of what I am saying.

I am not saying that all those items don't add power or are not effective. I am saying that if you only get one the one you would "feel" the effects of more is the suspension. That is if you are driving through some turns etc, not drag racing.

If I swapped you in and out of 4 cars (with a set of ear protection to eliminate the sound factor); one stock, one with just an exhaust, one with just an intake and one with just a tune you would be hard pressed to tell the difference when driving around an autox course.

An exhaust adds what 10HP? All the intakes I have seen barely add 3 and the tune adds what 15 unless you go to E85. It is just too tough to notice 10HP in the "butt dyno" when daily driving as this guy says he is going to do.

However if you take two cars; one with factory suspension and one with springs or coils I and run through an autox course you would 100% be able to tell which one was not stock.

Do the mods add power? Yes 100%. I am just saying if you get to choose only one your money will be felt more in the suspension rather than gaining 10 hp.

Now if budget is not a consideration than I would say a turbo kit. But since he is limiting it to one mod I think that would be outside the intended budget.

Supposedly there's better pick up/acceleration since the engine has to work less to turn the pulley (I think)... but are there any negatives to a lightweight pulley? maintenance, warrany voids, etc?
