The 2nd & 3rd picture I posted are close-ups of the mounting areas. The plastic curves to hook into the air duct (there is a crevice it slides into), and the bottom curves to hook in between the silver piece in the center console, and the surrounding for the head unit. There is also adhesive at each mounting point (although the top has a slight gap with mine), even so, it is still very sturdy. I would feel confident that (if designed for it) the mount could hold something as heavy as an iPad (or any other similar sized tablet). Definitely good quality material.

So this mount mount is supposed to be permanent, right? With the adhesive and all?

Technically yes, because you don't take it down whenever you aren't using it (although I use it every time I go somewhere). But you can remove it, and it leaves no marks. You would probably have to re-apply your own adhesive if you removed it and wanted to put it back. Personally, I don't think the top adhesive is even touching anything(2nd picture I posted), and it is still very sturdy.

I don't see myself removing it, but I like the stock head unit, and the fake carbon fiber look on the dash doesn't bother me, so I can't see a reason why I would remove it.

My pictures are much worse than Shagaliscious's, but I only had a quick moment to take pictures with my work blackberry before I jetted back out of town for work. Eventually I will be able to drive the car with the new setup!

That's my iPhone 4 in an Otterbox Defender case. Sorry for the oversize - how do I force the photo to shrink to normal page width?

so ... you don't even get actual hardware that attaches to your device.. gotta spend an additional $35 - $60 .. then hope it's not clumsy.

Lol, I had Proclip on my Volkswagen CC and it's the most OEM device holder you can buy. Clumsy and Proclip never in the same sentence!

Well worth buy since there's 25% off, I'll post up a pick since mine came in the mail today.

Cheers,

Sam

Missed the 25% odd but i still ordered. Not sure if im going to like the black bracket against the silver dash trim on the BRZ. Hoping it will work out for the $85 with shipping and tax.

I think it would be easy enough to paint if you wanted to. And I think it's worth the money. The placement also allows you to run the phone cable through the back of the glovebox, making it almost invisible. I hate having exposed wires in my car.

I like the idea of the nav system, but I can see it easily being use to talk ur text out, and ect.
Maybe it's just me.. Even when people are in my car I enjoy it more if they don't talk, I guess I get pretty intense when I drive. But how else will you predict asshole drivers/look out for cops, people walking, pot holes, ect ect... I like giving 110% but maybe since I'm female I have no other choice if I want to be a good driver.
Lol I kid on the female part......

I have one on my 2017 BRZ, but the canadian version doesn't have exactly the same dash. On the website it says it's compatible with the 17-18.
On a side note, I didn't even use the adhesive (didn't peel the tape), and it's still sturdy.
