I would not touch the car as of right now maybe after it gets some beating at the track (drifting) but im considering an exhaust right now .. Id like to feel how the car is bone stock so i can appreciate the numerous aftermarket replacement parts available..

First mod would be lowering springs or coilovers just because I hate the stock ride height. Then wheels and tires, then exhaust, then cosmetics, then other performance mods. I'd like to drive it between each mod to see what gain or benefit each thing offers, if any.

Just buy the ECUtek tuning kit from Visconti. Hold off on exhausts and cold air intakes until we see the results of who makes the best on the dyno with a tune. Also, we will be seeing intakes from Perrin and Nameless in the future and some by other companies. I would wait to see whose is the best. Take that $300-$370 on an intake alone and that's about half of the ECUtek kit price. The exhaust is too costly to buy not knowing which company makes the best one based on a tune.
The twins have only been out for a few months. Patience will be rewarded.

Wheels/tires
Exhaust/intake Suspension The best mod of all is improving yourself as a driver!

Now that I had several mods into my BRZ the two that I recommend most are:
1. Light weight crank pulley. It's afforadable and easy to install. It doesn't add power but it gives a noticable improvement to throttle response. 2. Visconti Stg 1 ECU flash. Pricey, and I wouldn't say it's a radical difference but it eliminates things like the torque dip, and takes everything else that's good about the engine and makes it a little better.

mostly cosmetic for me this year... custom shift knob, Grimmspeed oil cap, Perrin 2" antenna... and probably tint.
also got Perrin lightweight crank pulley and Perrin shifter bushing. Cusco upper strut bar with master cylinder brace. Next year will be exhaust and intake. Wheels I'm gonna keep stock for a bit as that money would be used on my other car. |
