I'd like to drift it but there's no where to drift in west texas. The only way is if I pull some schenanigans in a parking lot and get out quick.

Old Skoo is right, though. If you want a straight line car, why are you starting with a car that has a decided disadvantage like the S2000 (NO grunt down low) and possibly the FT (same, perhaps).

I can appreciate you enjoying the car for other reasons but if that's the primary goal then using either aforementioned car as a means to that end is like dating dating Jessica Alba (pre-baby) and being satisfied with kissing: that's not what that platform was put on earth to do!

As for your Pro example: sure, that's mighty impressive, no doubt. But that takes a shop to deal with budget, fabrication, etc. A privateer that is not independently wealthy isn't even worthy of mention to attempt to overcome a given platform's inherent flaws.

Ok, but people are consistently hitting 700+ whp independently from shops. I guess I'm just missing the boat since I don't track/drift my S2000 and I don't plan to track/drift the FT.

I'm not even sure if I'm tracking for drifting my future FT, either. And whatever you want to do is entirely your decision, so don't think that's what I'm getting after.

I'm just commenting on the folly of building a "drag" S2000. The car is tuned from the factory to be a true handling beauty. To not experience that to me just does not make sense. But whatever, it's your money.

I commented either in this thread or another that I'm still not 100% on what I want to do with this thing. Right now I want to boost it but I may tune it as an N/A and turn it into a track car. I'm not quite sure and there's more than enough time to decide.

So you rather drag race a S2000 lol i think your missing the point on what the S2000 is all about, its strong point is cornering speed not 0-60. I dont care what you do with your car its just sad to see a good perfectly balance, well engineered car just go 0-100mph

No, I'm not missing the point of what the s2000 is all about. I'm not going track it, just plain and simple. The extent of using it's handling ability is going to the Dragon, which I enjoy doing. I'd rather spend 20k on a rwd coupe and boost it, than spending 40k on an Evo X or a 370. A Camaro is just out of the question quite frankly because I just dislike how it looks.

And apparently you do care if you say "lol" and say that I'm missing the point of what the car was made for.

I've taken my S to the Dragon 3 times now. I loled at the Boost Mobile reference.

Well, I won't lie and say that I know how to drive my car and correct myself should there be a problem. I take it easy when I go to the Dragon and I don't really push it. You're right and I should learn how to properly drive my car. Me and a buddy are going up in April for Wake the Dragon with his boosted S. Should be a fun time.

Ouch man that sucks horribly. I've heard too many horror stories but luckily never have seen any. Well, in reference to your earlier post, I wouldn't mind setting up Dragon meets and "renting" out the village up there to 86 owners. I know the guy that handles all that for the two S2000 meets a year up there so I figure I can handle it.

I can't seem to find the video of an S owner going over the side of the mountain but it was at a meet I think a year or two before I started going. Pretty scary stuff.
