The only one that ever was a thing is the tiny banner ad at the top. that cycles between Delicious Tuning and Speed by Design. And that hasn't always been the case. Maybe showed up within the last year.

Every time I have ever seen this argument for any of the site I go to it's always because they use a crappy adblocker like AdBlock/Adblock Pro/ublock (not uBlock Origin)
All of those allow people to pay them to not have their ads blocked.

Have been using uBlock Origin for almost a decade now because they are kind of the only people that straight block everything. And don't unblock stuff if someone pays them.

Edit: Forgot the pic. This is the only ad I have ever seen in all these years.
1st pic was form 2019 2nd is from last night.

This is the only site a visit that has ads like this. Maybe one of 10 websites I visit total; just not worth it to install an ad blocker, it's easier to just not visit this site

Yea, the bottom up ads are particularly annoying. Ad blockers do take care of them, so I don't get them at work. I avoid checking at home now.

I've got an ad blocker that doesn't seem to do anything. Today is a particularly bad day for ads. Plus, not only am I getting the timed out screen or the, we're having difficulty connecting to that site type of messages BUT... I also got a You do not have permission to view this page errors.

Hm... not sure admin feels, but I feel like this site need to be updated. Also approval of members need to be quicker. I would gladly keep up, but not sure admin feel about it.

Maybe it was coincidence but less people have been posting since the ads became a thing.

I use Chrome on mobile maybe that's my problem, but I regularly get ads that block the entire screen. Typically they have a tiny (X) button at the top but lately some don't and I have to refresh the entire page again. It often messes up the page I'm viewing and adds steps.

Speeding up the site would be nice and the ads are a bit frustrating too.

For me, this site has been invaluable. Almost every problem (most self inflicted) that I've had with my FRS, I've been able to fix with help from folks on this forum. I hate to see folks not regularly checking in because I may do something stupid and need help again.

I get absolutely no ads here using Vivaldi browser....
....nor do I see or have to watch ads on YouTube, even with their recent enhanced anti-ad blocking campaign.

However, I am also experiencing connection issues and timing out. Especially when trying to post.
