Base on reviews, the navigation in the brz is not that good

Id rather get an aftermarket one like pionner or kenwood

It's pretty bad. I wouldn't buy the BRZ over the FR-S for the navigation alone, that's for sure. I used to think it was just "ok" but the more I use it the more I dislike it. It's just so slow.

Really? I thought it was fine and not that bad because I use touch screen navigation also in my honda civic and it is okay.

It's just my opinion. If you don't find it bothersome there's no reason you shouldn't regard it that way. It's certainly full-featured.

The Nav in the BRZ has a fairly clunky user interface. It works perfectly fine, but it is a bit slow and it's not as user-friendly as some of the aftermarket models out there. It also has a bunch of safety measures to prevent you from doing things while the vehicle is moving, but you end up so frustrated with it that you'll probably end up in an accident anyway

That said, there are many reasons to pick a BRZ over an FR-S, but given how easy it is to replace the head unit with a better aftermarket model, I wouldn't count the head unit with nav as one of these reasons. It's a perfectly fine OEM system, however.

It can't be any worst than the JVC nav/dvd deck I bought a couple years ago either.
