I think we can all agree that a 47 whp gain was unexpected based on the official engine ratings. Also that the baseline dyno for the gen 1 car they used was strange (shape, peak numbers). Lastly that King doesn’t really do a lot of work on this platform, and they are the source of the only two high reading dyno charts we’ve see so far for the gen 2. The JDM production cars that have been dyno’d had much lower peak numbers that were more inline with expectations and with what Toyotas engineers let on (mid 190’s PS at the wheels or low-mid 190’s whp).
Not sure that anything more needs to be said. I’m not discounting the 206-209 whp numbers that SG/King have found in their testing, just that it makes sense IMO to wait for additional corroboration.

I'd be scared to test drive a new one. It'll probably make my frs feel like a hayride.

Exactly! That's why I included the 2nd sentence about driving on a curvy road. It is always welcome to get improvements in engine, but it is not what is all about this platform. If some over here really care about 0-60 times and straight line speed, then they'll be disappointed no matter what a dyno is reading. It won't be fast enough and it'll need more power.
