New First Drive Video - goes live in 6 hours

Fairly small youtuber account, from the WAPA Press Rally apparently.

Of note is that he has set a specific release time (midnight tonight for me), which I wonder if it indicates a general press embargo, and why we haven't seen tons of content that was expected at the end of august... If so potentially there will be a lot more comming in very short order.

Was wondering about some kind of embargo too. I know a few youtubers like Matt and Savagegeese have had the car and havn't seen any new content in a while.

At least Mark is comparing apples to apples (FR) regarding slush boxes but Jack continues to compare apples to oranges (FF).

Hahaha I noticed that and I was probably one of them. FWIW I never said he was intentionally messing with the numbers. Every dyno reads differently and that dyno (King motorsports) isn’t a known a known quantity on this forum for baselines and tuning. So made sense (and still makes sense) to see what production gen 2 cars put down on more familiar dynos.

Dake 10-13-2021 01:35 PM

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter if the dyno is "familiar", because they've tested the old and the new on the same dyno, so the comparison is valid even if the numbers wind up being a little off (and their WHP numbers for the gen 1 seem to match up to what others have shown).

This. This is key. If they used the same method and same hardware (the dyno), I don't really give a crap about the absolute numbers. It's the relative thats important.

The new car is THAT much stronger.

For the love of God, when is the online configurator going to go live?!

I want to see how the colors and features compare to Subaru.
