I absolutely hated them.. thought they looked like they belonged on a Mustang. But they have actually grown on me.

I didn't like them when I first spotted the BRZ / FR-S in photos... But then I saw an FR-S in person, I felt the wheels were right at home with the design of the car. Very unique, simple, and they look of high-quality in person.
No complaints from me.

+1 works for me, better than fat 5's or smaller wheel size. I like them.

I really like the stock wheels, and the two tone colour. That was part of the initial appeal and I would never have pre-ordered if there was something about the look I didnt like.
A lot of the performance wheels look so-so to me, like some of the more common Enkei's etc. Granted they might be light, or stong forged designs, but not the most esthetically pleasing. I always laugh when people put these huge wheels on their cars. A guy in my office has a 370Z and he put huge 2 or 3 pce. rims with wider ones at the rear. I bet they weigh a ton. Working at a car dealer many years ago, I was able to observe how ridiculously heavy some aftermarlet wheels are.

I like the stock wheels, though i notice a lot of aftermarket rims don't go really well with this car from photos ive seen...
I don't like it when wheels try to grab all the attention and contrast from the rest of the car, it looks stupid and well bad. |

When one of my wheels was stolen off my Protege when I lived in Clifton, my dad took me to Tire Discounters and bought me a new tire on the cheapest rim they had. It looked almost identical to the rims on the FR-S. I can't un-see it.

I like em - anyone in the NY metro area who doesn't like em, let me know when you get aftermarkets and want to sell them - I could use another set for some winters.

I am Happy they have Blk Accents, Lightweight, NOT CHROME/BLINGY, they are alright...however I have 15# Enkei RPF1's on now.

The factory items are fairly lightweight but the multispoke and relatively flat face dont make it look as sporty as the car's ethos is. But beauty is relative and in the eye of the beholder. As to aftermarket wheels weighting more than stocks, really depends on what you want out of the design. Certain designs naturally weight more than others. There are finite shapes that are light weight oriented. However, those designs will not necessarily appeal to everyone. So, ultimately, since many wont be taking the car to the track, it boils down to aesthetics. What style do you like? And if the style you like tends to be on the heavy side, would you swap out for another? Ultimately, I think the aesthetics usually win out over weight savings because when you park the car, walk away from it, and you take a glance before going about your business, would you think : " Man those wheels are light weight" or would you think " Man, my car looks good!"?
