The Grimmspeed ones will slow down as the hood raises to the top position when opening, should be fine with a CF hood.
Going down to the bottom position they do slow the speed, but I wouldn't think that they'd keep the hood from latching at the bottom position. I have them with an OEM hood, so YMMV. Quote:

Stock hood is already super light. CF hoods aren't any lighter. Grimmspeed struts are perfect.
