Reminds me very much of the FT-86, but then I really want it so. I see I have alot to moddify in order to make it faster than all of those stock cars. And I am not fool, I am not talking about being faster than a Porsche 911 or a Ferrari. I just want a nice small sportscar.
Consider that the GT5 video game fantasy version was 1000kg and 220 PS NA. So reality means, probably, more weight and less power.

Depending on what resources you have available, if you are serious, I would look into getting an EZ30R (Subaru 3.0L H6, 240ish PS stock) and having it built for NA power. Start now and have it ready for when the FT86 comes out, then swap it in. This won't be cheap, or even necessarily easy (depending on space, but H4 to H6 Subaru swaps are relatively common). Along with appropriate handling mods, this car could conceivably be in the 320 PS range, naturally aspirated, and 1300kg (depending on starting weight).

However I won't even speculate about what a final cost, including the car, would be. (lots of EXPENSIVE custom work, especially cams and a properly ported head.)

It would be damn fast, though. And if tuned right, could probably give some previous gen 911's a run for their money.

This is my personal fantasy right now. But probably just because I miss my Supra and its power...

LOL okay so I actually now got some time to read thru some of what you wrote and so you want the FT86 (a brand new mass market car) to be better out of the box than a limited (500) edition super suped up refined version of a car that they have had out and improved upon multiple times since 2004.

Cool I was a Supra powered by twin jet engines that runs on hopes and dream and auto refills itself 7 times a day.

This would be an actually thread had you said I want the toyota to develop the ft86 into a car that can beat the Renault in a few years.

I already thought about the swap from H4 to H6, but am not really a fan of such things, H4 is the best engine for it, as the car was developed for this engine. Another heavier engine could worsen handling. It is like the NA V10 S85 or TT V8 S63 swaps in the M3 E92, the car was faster on straight but did not handle better on track.

I am in Europe, so for us the Mégane RS is the best bang for your buck if your want a "sportscar", unfortunately it is FWD, like most of our cars, that is why it makes me lose interest. Another even cheaper car is the
Renault Clio R.S Cup
2.0l NA I4
203 PS @ 7.100 RPM
215 Nm @ 5.400 RPM (over 200 Nm @ 3.000-7.000 RPM)
Redline @ 7.500 RPM
Wieght: 1240 kg (EU)
0-100 km/h: 6,9 sec
V-max: 224 km/h
Price: 21.550 €

FT-86 should then at least be fester than this one.

I think it will be pretty close to this numbers-wise. Maybe a touch better accelerating because of weight transfer. Handling on par with a Cayman, or close, as this is their target.

Euro price I can't even speculate on, as I'm blown away at how expensive cars are over there.

the ones in bold are the dirrect competitors, sort off from that list only. keep in mind that ALL these cars are more than 2x the price of the ft86 (at least here in australia)
ft86 will NEVER handle as good as the lotus, NEVER have the same luxuries or out accelerate the M1/cayman although it might very well out handle them. and NEVER look as good as the 4C (in fact if the 4C isnt over 70kAUD i would much rather get it were as i wouldnt pay more than 35kAUD for a mid range FT86)
the z4 is a convertible and its a roadster, different type of car, cant compare oranges to apples, cupra is just fugly and the scirocco ...
scirocco, cupra, cooper, those cas compare only to the gaynault.
it will out perform the geynault with out a issue.

Awesome sounding Impreza with H6. Howerever would not be worth on an FT-86 without AWD.

It'll never be able to beat the Renault on the Ring. The Megane is such an easy car to drive on and beyond the limit, it's not funny anymore. I'm not saying a 8:08 is a walk in the park for the Renault, but the FWD chassis combined with it's long-ish wheelbase and a very good setup make it a very fast car on the Nordschleife.

I think the FT86, in the right hands, will do a 8:25~8:30 laptime.

The FT86 won't come close to the Megane ring time, and it doesn't need to. It's not made to get blistering fast ring times, it's made to be a well-balanced fun and tossable RWD car.
