I remember when I screwed up my crank pulley removal (by snapping a bolt on one of the pulleys), on the way to the garage, I lost power steering because the pulley actually popped off (ended up needing a tow to the garage as the engine shut off), for the 10 or so minutes I was driving the car, the unassisted steering actually felt kinda nice.

I wonder if there's a less-idiotic/less-risky way to disable the EPS assist?

I wonder if we can ever see a day where we can tweak the steering assist (I could see something like a track mode which entirely turns off the EPS)?

There's a theory that the slight increase in wheelbase might be due to a higher caster angle. Who knows what they'll come up with, though.

You can just pull the EPS fuse from the engine bay fuse box. It's a big 80A fuse, but it pops right out. I actually tried that, didn't like the feel at all, honestly. Too much effort, even at speed, making even mild cornering a struggle with the steering. The rack on the Twins is pretty fast, especially compared to non-power steering racks of yore.
