I got Bride air bag cancelers and they worked fine. You just have to find the right size resistor and wire it in. There are DIYs to do this.

What are people’s thoughts on removing seat airbags as a result of a new seat? I understand some countries don’t even require them, but I’m wondering what the risk factor is.

Less safety from side impacts i guess? Maybe not so much from structural deformation of doors, as it won't change, more of what those airbags were designed to prevent - dampen high-g body movements to side, no? Then again, aftermarket seats usually have much more side bolstering and are better to keep one's body in place. So i guess that more danger comes for neck snapping if no hans device is worn, w/o those airbags. But i guess there is more chance for higher speed/higher g-s frontal impacts, less so side impacts as fast. But then again there are no "side headrests" either, unless it's motorsport only seat with wide "ears" around head .. but that in turn will impair side & rear visibility on public roads and thus probably such seats will be not road legal.
So i guess we are back to old choice - either full street safety package, OR full track safety package (rollcage, bucketseat, multi-point harness, helmet, hans .. which unfortunately is not street legal), not mix from components of both, which may introduce false sense of safety even if passed unnoticed by not thorough legal modification rules or checks/enforcement of such.

About only stock seat modifications for dual-use car i'd probably consider, would be cutting seat padding (for eg. lower seating/more headroom), or "streetable" recaros with back adjustment and some extra side bolstering. If there are such in some twins special editions (that also will disable side airbags) like reclining semi-bucket TRD sport seats (or similar analogues from other seat vendors), then imho they shouldn't be THAT unsafe. But full bucket seat .. or multipoint harnesses .. NO. They need those extra bits of 'motorsport safety package' that will make car loose street legality .. and in some cases mentioned safety system partial mix-and-match on some tracks won't be passing tech inspection either.
