Not sure if it's true for most but it's true for the 86. One of the oddest things I read in the manual when I bought the car.

I knew the taillights were like that, but figured with the multiple LEDs I could go a while if one burned out. the thought of having to spend 1/27th the price of the car to replace a burned out bulb is ridiculous though. There is no way in heck the price is justifiable.
