I guess if they had authentic trd crap on their cars it would warrant a badge. IMO it's worse when people buy replica products and put official badge on it. lol At least counterfeiters for apparel had the decency to spell the brand name wrong lol

Yeah, that's the kind of nice bonus I was hoping to discover
Though my car doesnt appear lowered and handling felt like others I test drove, but you cant always tell everything from test drives.

My FRS was the dealer showroom car and as such had all the TRD parts available in Canada in 2014 already installed by them. Had the drop in filter (the whole intake wasn't here yet), sway bars, exhaust and although it said TRD lowering springs they were actually RSRs.
Even then I would not put a TRD badge on it since it was NOT a TRD car. Adding some parts does not make it some special version that warrants a badge.

Yeah, I wouldn't have added the badge, but a lot of folks in the modding world like to put stickers and badges from aftermarket brands they've installed. I don't have a problem with people doing that, but its not my style.

In my thinking starting this thread a TRD badge could indicate:
1. A special TRD edition of the car (unlikely)
2. The owner displaying stickers from mods they've made.
3. Someone posing like they have a special edition they actually don't have.

I'll be taking the badges off, but started this discussion to see if #2 were the case how I could identify any cool mods that may have been installed.

Best thing to do is mod it yourself and make it your own “special edition”. Few (if any) people would have the same combination of parts you pick.

Yeah agree with others here, I have a BRZ but wouldn’t just slap a couple of STI badges on it even though I do have some STI parts installed.

Definitely. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm actually starting with.

Pretty sure from what you have said it is just a base car. Any TRD stuff it may have had seems to be gone now. The parts are easy to spot if you have them.

Yep - that's what I've gathered from this. I did get some cool fog lights

I wonder if I could balance things by adding and STI badge too.

If someone puts a Hellcat motor in a twin, then yeah, deserves an SRT badge.

SRT means more than just an engine though. Need to change all the suspension over as well.
