Don't have any pic's or vid's of it unfortunately my cars low and its straight in the middle.

I watched plenty of YouTube vids like this one before i made my decision.

I used ULTRA QUIET Resonator 2.25in inlet / outlet x 14in overall length. Not a lot of room down there actually so you're not going to be able to fit anything larger, my exhaust guy had to lower the piping slightly to fit it between the catback and front pipe. Its not to low that it catches speed bumps or anything like that, but it might depending if you slam your car, He charged me $100 took him 20 minutes, i watched it he did a good job. If somebody charges you more then $150 they are probably overcharging.

But if you're going with an aftermarket cat back or keeping it stock with a header I would recommend getting this resonator, its pricy $200 but its worth the price imo.

From searching here, I'll probably keep the stock intake (maybe add a drop-in filter), and am debating the rest of the exhaust (I need to keep the cat for emissions compliance).

Has anyone added a header but kept the stock exhaust? Most posts are about experiences with both a header and a cat-back (or axle-back), but most other posts also suggest that aftermarket exhausts primarily add noise (which I don't care about).

Has anyone added just a header and a tune, but kept the rest of the OEM exhaust system? Are you happy with that?

Thank you!
Yes, I have a similar setup on my 2015 manual 86. It has a ultrex catted EL header (it's really slightly UEL), Ultrex overpipe, grimmspeed air intake with the sound tube deletion and a custom tune. The rest of my exhaust system is OEM. Bear in mine though, my header does have a high flow cat, so this would mute some of the volume. But all in all, I think it sounds good and would recommend it.

I recently installed a Gruppe-S (catless) header and a JDL Ultra Quiet (catted and resonated) combination front pipe/overpipe.
The balance of the exhaust is OEM. I like the sound. It's a mature performance sound. Nice grumble at start-up. Good tone when driving but only slightly louder than stock.
Also paired with an OFT stage II tune the power is noticeably stronger in the low and mid ranges where my commuting is done. Will experience top end power come Sunday when lapping (TMP, weather permitting).

Looking forward to your thoughts after TMP. Good luck!

Are you still using the OEM midpipe and axleback?

I’m running a cat less UEL with stock pipes. The sound is OK to me, cold start is a little louder/different than stock. I could live with it-but I picked up a straight front pipe and a vibrant resonator, just to see if I can get a bit more grumble out of it.

2020 BRZ. I added a EL catless header, over pipe and catless and resonated front pipe. Added a drop in K&N filter. The rest of the exhaust is stock. The normal driving is perfect. The hard driving has a great sound. I took it for a tune but the tuner couldnt get the new stuff to tune it cause the car is so new (according to him). But while on the dyno, it made 176 hp. About 10 more than the bone stock cars. With a good tune it should increase about 15 or so.

I am planing to do the exactly what your asking. Will be getting rid of UEL and catback setup and will be moving to a JDL 4-2-1 EL with all stock exhaust except I plan to add a vibrant ultra quiet resonator into the stock front pipe removing the dinky stock one. I hope the combo will allow the car to be quiet while cruising but a nice tone/sound when I get on it.
