Yeah the twins are not the easiest cars to get in and out of. You sort of drop in them, and do a sit up to get out. Not good for a bad back at all. Now go look for a crowd, your Mustang needs to feed

This looks like a good fix for easy ingress and egress.

Ride quality of the 13-16 Toybaru was 'very choppy', the facelifted 17+ has been mildly upgraded to 'choppy'. It is a shame, however, if anyone gives up the Toybaru because of the poor ride quality.

Ex-factory, the Toybaru is a 85% finished item, it is up to the owner to complete the build to suit his peference.

I, too, think the ride quality is un-acceptable. I installed taller springs (+15mm), ultra-light wheels (5.5 kg each), softer front anti-roll bars, two-piece front brake rotors (-4lb each), and light weight rear upper control arms (-5lb each). After reducing the total unsprung weight by over 55lb, increasing maximum wheel travel by 15mm, and softer anti-roll bars, I am happy to report that the ride quality has been upgraded from 'choppy' to 'firm".

Unlike some other marques, eg Porsche, the Toybaru is deliberately set up to accept all kinds of mod readily, easily, and cheaply. There are literally thousands of mod's available to suit anyone's preference. Not taking advantage of this is missing out half the enjoyment of owning a Toybaru.

What a pity.

Stop being a ****. Not everybody wants to blow money to mod their car let alone actually install everything themselves, and you can't exactly fix low seat height without looking like the car 86MLR posted.

Also, 85% finished sounds like a good reason to stay away from the twins. Plenty of people want their car 100% finished, i.e. suitable for their needs right out of the box. Good for you if you want to mod your car, but don't be condescending towards others who want a complete package when purchasing a car.

This is great and is one of my goals but still won’t help when you have a bad back. There are times I can’t drive the car. It’s the low seating position, it puts pressure on the lower spine. It’s the nature of the car design.

It will be far easier to slide into something higher. Did I miss the pics of the car

I agree 100% with the a****'s 85% assessment. IMO the stock car is ready to be customized to your individual desires. It needs to be lowered, the tires suck, the front end is ugly, the rear needs a spoiler (of your choice), the exhaust is too quiet, it needs a UEL header and it's too slow (FI of your choice). Any and all of the "deficiencies" can be dealt with any way you wish. Now if you like the car as is, that's fine. But just because someone wants to customize his car and make it unique doesn't make him an a****.

If you bought the 86 to win races, you're gonna have a bad time.

The low seating position is definitely an issue for some. My wife hates it.

At one point, my car was loud, had a slight leak from the exhaust, was on a relatively stiff track setup (7k coilovers, 200 tw tires), and had brakes that squealed like a train at every stop (track pads/bbk). We normally take the family car, but had to take my car this one time. I told my wife to get in and the one objection she had was... the low seating position.

I personally love it though, so oh well.

I 100% did not buy my FR-S to win races I was just saying the Mustang is a faster car. Do I want one? Hellllllllll no. But for the OP it’s a great alternative to the 86, it’s easier to get in and out of, and has a better ride. And it’s quick and fun in its own way. Anyone that cares about cars and driving will always get a from me.

The comments about the 86 not being a “finished” car I don’t agree with at all. If you want some more creature comforts the BRZ provides that. Anything else you want to modify is just personal preference. Now the stripped down JDM version of the 86 is not completely finished, but we don’t even get that version. Keyword here is opinion. Plenty of other people will find the FR-S perfectly fine as-is. I'm not arguing that the car is moddable; I'm saying that there are plenty of people who want something that caters to their needs out of the box without needing to mod.

I wasn't calling him a **** because he wanted to mod his car. I called him a **** because of how condescending his post came off towards OP.
