OHHH, I just misunderstood which percentage you were referring to

This back and forth is almost as useless as the thread itself.

LOL yep the useless part is what I was parodying with the correction of the %. Although I think the thread was a parody of the 86 one in the first place. Sort of a parody inception thing going on really.

I still think they are trying to split up the manual driving metal head grease monkeys and the vegan vaping communist automatic drivers into two groups.

This makes sense to me, too. If you’re gonna drive all the way to a Subaru dealership and say “forget all these AWD sedans/SUVs, I want the one RWD car you guys have,” you’re probably a pretty hardcore car enthusiast. Also, the last Subaru dealership I was at only had manual pps on the lot, the Toyota dealership only had autos.

I think it's just because us BRZ owners are better drivers. That master race thing and all

Don’t kid yourself. The forum and car culture thing skews perspective. For every hardcore enthusiast that runs out to buy one of these there are probably at least ten people that see it and think “oh that is a nice cheap little car I will get one”. Many of those people will be more concern with colour than anything else. M

Case in point, I have a niece that lives in South Florida. She is completely car clueless but has now owned a 2013 and a 2018 because she saw mine and thought it "was cute".

Fair enough, I keep forgetting that most people are completely clueless about cars. Just the other day an acquaintance asked me if my car was a Toyota Avalon. Then said it looks like a girl car. Yikes.
