i'm very sorry for not updating you all, but my insurance said they would call yesterday, which they have not. perhaps my attorney stepped in? i have neglected to share a detail about myself. i do not have health insurance, so i've been doing things on a lien for the medical side of this, that my current attorney has recommended. i want to talk to my insurance about these bills that i have been racking up, and what happens if i drop my current attorney. i also had no idea my insurance has their own attorneys since im not really that smart.

i've made some bad decisions because i've felt a sense of urgency to do things, and i now feel i asked the wrong people for advice on this whole thing, and wish i went straight to here. i was suffering from a concussion during the first couple days, and having that on top of the fact that i am very clueless with this sort of stuff, made me regret acting so hastily. i am going to call my insurance when they are open and seeing how i can go from here in regards to my medical bills and dropping my attorney, but i feel i may have gone too far in mistakes, such as signing over my car, not calling my insurance, and grabbing an attorney when i had so much evidence.

An attorney was probably the right thing to do, and dropping him now will have incurred fees. If you have this much medical it's good to have a third party lawyer on your side.

Medical should have been taken care of by the offending parties (or yours) insurance, but since you lawyered up all the med pay will go in to a trust to be paid out when the case is settled. This doesnt mean the medical providers wont be harrassing you though, so be wary of that.

What happened to the car? Dont take a companies first offer on the value.

Did the person that hit you have insurance?

It will all work out in the end. You may take a bit of a financial beating but life goes on.

I would call insurance first, cus their agent will take care of everything for me.
My mom last car was totaled and it's her fault, from accident to receive the money within 3 weeks.

The reason insurance companies freak out when independent lawyers become involved is they assume a lawsuit is looming, which completely changes how the settlement is determined. My friend was rear-ended by an ambulance on the freeway, years ago, in a leased Integra. The ambulance's insurance company contacted him immediately about proceeding with the claim, but for some reason he decided to hire a lawyer. Once the insurance company found out, their tone completely changed.

I am glad OP is okay. But the story sounds like OP is keeping some of the truth to himself. I just hope everybody gets whatever is right for them in the end.
