My Car:
2002 Audi TT quattro (225 hp 6-speed model) bought in 2007
Got her for a steal when PO was moving out of state.
She's been good to me (typical VW/audi electrical problems, but no major issues) and i love her back.
I have been longing however, for a FR lightweight ever since i got the opportunity to slide a friends S2000 around some curves for 10 mins...

Picture time!

Turbo I4 sir!

It's funny cause it's just as quick as the V6. The V6 only has 15 more horses, but is about 80lbs heavier and therefore handles worse.

The whole V6 thing is a north american marketing trick. Nobody is going to buy a top of the line model of a sportscar with a 4 cylinder. Well except the enthusiasts...

lol I'm not too good at VW, Audi spec so I have no clue. I just remember that they have 3 or 4 different ver of TT. NA i4, Turbo i4, & v6. So I was wondering. I would get i4 turbo too. TT is small car. I wouldn't want to work under the hood on those things, if they have v6 in it.

haha, i don't even like working under my hood cause it's so cramped!
I guess that's why it's so heavy too (3500 lbs!!!) they stuff it with all kinds of stuff.
There is actually no NA i4 option, just 3 different 1.8 turbo versions: 150HP, 180HP, and 225HP. then there's the NA V6 with 240HP

My 1979 Yamaha XS Eleven. I bought a 1980 Special in worse shape but the engine was much fresher than the 62,000 miles on my standard. I transplanted the engine, along with the round instruments, headlight and turn signals from the special onto my standard. The rectangular units on the standard model are really dated and unattractive. I also painted the engine and the fork lowers black. It has lower black handlebars and I've since replaced the 4-2 exhaust with 4-1. However, lately the top end has started making a knocking sound. I think it's going to need a top-end rebuild.

Yep. Typically the 2ZZ makes about 25 -33% more power than torque. Plus, for a roots S/C you lose some due to turning the blower. It's a high revving, small displacement engine. It lives at high RPM.

Don't forget the 2ZZ starts out with 180/133 bhp...

On the other hand, and what that dyno doesn't show, you have the torque starting at 2K instead of around 4K like a comparably sized turbo.

As to the MRS, it's really unusual to see the torque and power numbers so close. It should be making closer to 300 whp with that much torque. Dyno?

when my brother had the 2002 celica GTS only thing i love about the 2ZZGE VVTL-i is when the lift kicks in its better than the VTEC i was really surprise only thing about the last celica was under powered.

Oh hai

'92 SW20 T-top N/A (3S-GE)

Koni yellow dampers
Intrax lowering springs
Prothane bushings
+'94 rear subframe
Racinghart CP-035 wheels (15/16" stagger)
TRD rear strutbar

Next year a 2GR-FE (3.5 V6) will replace the 3S-GE. The engine is already ordered and will be shipped ASAP from Japan.
