That article is a publicity stunt. The nuclear plant isn't near any car factories from what I've heard. Perhaps I should make a map to elaborate, but I'm too lazy.

Our enemies are a legion!

That'd be sweet. Although, Rhinoceros Beetleman just doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well as Spiderman.

the difficulty to remove radioactivity from an item will range from as easy as the push of a button all the way to impossible so i dont quite understand what to say about that.
yeah its harmful but what isnt? id be willing to say that radiation saves more lives than it takes at this point
thats funny you corrected me for something you dont know, ok let me school you since I work on it every now and then and why they send me to Japan after the nuclear disaster. a millirem is used on the biological dose meaning thats the measurement on people, plants or animals that was expose to radiation.

millirad is a measurement on the object or an item that expose to an radiation. they are not same.

its kinda long if i try to explain it, but if you have a cellphone you need to talk on it for 3days to get same exposure & still be ok.

and its easy to get rid of low radiation exposure just wash the item with soap and water.

If you're worried about those levels of radiation I would HIGHLY suggest you never go outside again....day or night. If you found out how much radiation you're submitted to you'd probably faint.

common misconception, that would only be true if you were talking on a banana phone... in which case, i am made jealous

this is a good read. a scientific comic writer made it based on facts, information, and data

Even staying inside won't protect you. The natural background radiation comes from darn near everything. Uranium is one of the most widely distributed elements, found pretty evenly through most stones, particularly granite. You could take a geiger counter deep into a cave and still pick up radiation.

So the stone mixed into the concrete of the mortar holding your house together and your granite counter tops are all giving tiny amounts of radiation. The fact is that life here evolved within a world full of background radiation and people still live to ripe old ages now regularly topping 80+ years if your lucky enough.

Living in fear of something that's found naturally in the world and you can't escape from is kinda silly. If you live in the immediate vicinity of a nuclear site (like a melted down power plant, waste treatment facility, nuclear weapon testing zone, uranium ore mine) you should be a bit concerned and I would recommend moving. But don't worry about radiation on your car. Just give it a wash if you're concerned and you should be fine.

I wasn't trying to induce a discussion, I was just pointing out a humorous fact that most these radiation fear crazy people don't realize....

There's nothing like a productive discussion to get the brain cooking! Needless to say I wasn't too worried about it but I didn't know that much about radiation and now I have some more info to go by .

Anyone who does not live in surrounding countries of JP shouldn't be worrying that much. :l

The amount of radiation that's traveling west isn't great enough to harm you. -_- People are so... misinformed sometimes. Lol "HEY GAIZ! LETS TAKE POTASSIUM IODIDE IN LARGE DOSES!! WE ONLY LIVE HALF A WORLD AWAY FROM JP!" Lol..
