In all honesty, I wanted to keep my WRX, but the reality was it needed a full rebuild with 191k miles. No cash to rebuild and really no space to Properly store it was the final decision.
The dealer gave me KBB trade in, which is $1500-. The seats needed to be recovered as the cheep katskin covers were not in good shape as well the steering wheel leather was worn through to the wheel. I probably could have gotten way more if I sold it privately but I just didn’t want to deal with it.

I really hope someone will scoop it up and do a proper rebuild and tune, it was a fun car. The first gen USDM WRX’s ushered in something special, it was the beginnings of a very cool linage.

I agree the BRZ is a much more fun car to drive and live with. Sure it’s smaller but really it’s worlds above my 02 WRX. Way better in all aspects even though it’s not as powerful. Better suspension, Way better LSD, Way better transmission, Way better interior, etc etc etc...

Nice choice! I also came from a 2002 WRX & BMW 335i actually.

Here is my bugeye

I have good memories of it and regret not keeping it. However, I agree, reading what you have said about it since your mind is still fresh...I think apart from a few things like speed, the 86/BRZ are better in every other aspect.

I'm more interested in how the 2018 STI compares to our cars.

Nice car, love the WRB and gold rims. Awesome you are keeping it too.

I honestly don’t see any major changes to the MY18 BRZ STI. That wing is absolutely stupid for an every day car. I wonder if the suspension is any different than the MY17 BRZ Limited?

My two complaints are...
1- STARLINK and the systems OS seem to be behind the times, could be much better with Car Play and Android Auto. Though I can’t seem to agree with the criticism of sound quality. 20+ years in aviation his taken its toll on my hearing so perhaps I’m not picking up the poor quality.

2- would like to see the torque dip addressed more, but really it doesn’t bother me much. Learn to drive a NA 2.0 and understand it’s not a V-8.

Please don't call it a BRZ STI. There is no STI model. Labeling anything as such will just confuse people! lol
