Well basically it's the Accord Inspire that we've been getting all this time (the larger Accord while lower trim than the old Vigor / Saber but lost the high end connection overtime like the modern Passat).

Just about anything will be an improvement over the current gen. They butchered the whole deal for me when they changed the civic in 2008...all downhill from there.

The current accord is eh. After the recent refresh, when they added "blades" to the wheels, the front and rear fascia treatment, the designers were obviously pushing its relatively boring design to the limits.

I see the design as being relatively subdued. The side profile is rather simple with the 1 strong character line along the belt line. The rear is the most complex, and possibly could be tidied a little, but the front is uncluttered, i think.

So given that so many people complain about how busy a lot of modern car designs are, I'd call this a win.

Not so sure for me. I see it and all I can say is "Hey look, another nondescript midsize 4 door sedan from somewhere between 2015 and 2018"

Sure. And you can mostly draw comparisons to:

- mostly from the front. And yea, just about every automaker has gone "rakish" A7-light, But I see the profile as being more distinct, specifically with a cab-rearward design.

But, what else can they do to be more standout?

Obviously nothing touches the Mazda 6's design, imo.

Boring, mass market sedan/ crossover is boring. But relative to the whole field, I think it is 2nd best of the current crop of mid size sedans. I put it above the new Camry.

I have a hard time trying to understand where all the dissenters are coming from. I mean, it's a sedan. what are you comparing it to and what do you want? I think it looks fine and it seems to be well appointed. You can get it with the 2.0L turbo out of the Civic Type R making 252hp and 273tq and a 6-speed manual. sounds pretty sweet to me...

I think NA target customer will love it? ........... I think it looks good... and look kind like vw concept car from few years back.

& i'm sure this is one of those car that looks better then person then picture. Only thing i don't like about this accord is that i think the design will age faster then the other ones....feels too vw like in some of the lines

BTW I think the all new camry looks better...... & i find it funny how ppl say the all new camry looks like they stole styling from altima/maxima, maybe they did but they made it better.

oh I don't know... I just read it on Jalopnik earlier today. It didn't occur to me that it might not be legit.

MotorTrend is reporting the Sport trim will indeed have a 6-Speed manual option, which in my opinion would be pretty sweet.
