Pretty simple, hardest part is hammering out the pin so you can remove the stock lockout. There's a few DIYs on it around here.

What rattles? If it's the collar against the shift lever then some electrical tape on the lever would fix.

Just got my order in. Quite a bit sooner than I actually expected. I haven't installed either yet but the finish is very nice on both. They don't feel particularly premium but hey, I paid $3.50 for it.
