Not according to their website--its petroleum based. Not sure where you got your info.
As far as a fix for frozen windows, I've had doors frozen shut before, and usually a few light love taps along the frame is enough to break it free. Remember, the rubber door gaskets aren't frozen solid, they should still flex enough to pop the ice free. However, parking in a garage is an excellent solution.

No WD40 is a water displacer, actually that's exactly what the WD stands for (40 is the number of formulas they tried).
Nerd moment warning: it was originally used to coat ICBMs so water/condensation wouldn't settle an cause oxidation. Google it if you don't believe me. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

WD-40 will leave a dirty line in things that contact the rubber seal, ie: your clothing. Also, if it contains petroleum distillates, which I believe it does then you might eventually cause deterioration to the rubber seal. It will also cause the rubber to pick up dirt.
Silicone lubricant spray is clear and inert w.r.t. reacting with the rubber seal chemically. I have owned an Integra with frameless windows and I can see a door seal freeze as a real concern when you can't open the door. Al least with my xB the only issue was opening the window itself. I got this fix from another forum and it works. My impression was that the xB might not have received very thorough cold weather testing, or perhaps an oversight was made to limit additional cost. The silicone also gives the rubber a nice look, like Armour All.

I've been through 10 Canadian winters in my 2002 Celica, with the same frameless window setup. I have never had a frozen door/window issue, and the seals are still good even in a touchless car wash. Haven't had to think twice about it...
That said, if you have to wash the car outside in subzero temps, turn the car on with the heat on when you rinse it and then once dry enough drop the windows an inch like you suggested. Same thing after going through a touchless wash, just drive with them down an inch for a few minutes... LOL to the guy climbing into the 91 GTS through the trunk... I can only imagine watching someone my size (6'4 - 240) try and climb through the FR-S trunk into the cabin...

DO NOT POUR HOT WATER ON YOUR FROZEN WINDSHIELD YOU RUN THE RISK OF CRACKING IT if your windows/doors/locks are frozen solid there's keychain sized bottles of de-icer liquid you can buy to spray on and melt the ice....but the only time I've every had my doors frozen solid was either after washing it in the winter and not drying it properly or if it was raining and it flash froze overnight. which happens very rarely in the middle of winter.

Same thing for my S2000, I could still open the doors after freezing rain but can't open the windows unless I had the heat up for a bit. But don't forget our car needs the window goes down when we open the door. Just wonder how are we going to open the door or shut the door if windows don't go down. Since they have the window goes down to get into the rubber seal.

I've found that applying some type of lubrication to the seals helps.
