What happens if...
What happens if in the winter, the power window freezes? Seems to me that you won't be able to get in the car then! If you wash it in the winter, maybe leave the windows down an inch after so they don't freeze... Imagine not being able to get out of the car because the window can't go down.
I wonder if this car was even winter tested at all? Rob |
Ahahahaha I use to have a 91 celica gts and it happened to me a few times I has to open the trunk and climb through

My xB windows froze shut a few times last winter. It was a common flaw for that model.
I will do the same as I did for the xB, spray silicone lubricant on a cloth and wipe it down on the rubber door and window seals. I have never had issues in the past with other cars with frameless side windows. |
The door will open but if it does freeze I think you will risk tearing the seal. No idea on a price for that but at least you wont get trapped in your car? lol I like the idea of silicone lube on the seal sounds like a good plan. Someone told me WD-40 works also?

Here I am thinking why not just open the door, then I realized that these cars have frameless windows! lol :bonk:

There is a section for that in the owners manual,

drove my subaru RS (2001) for 3 years in the winter, parked every day outside any kind of snowstorm, never had an issue with the window sticking
didn't even take any precautions, cut it's never METAL sticking to the rubber, just glass. |
1. get a bucket
2. go to bath tub 3. fill with steaming hot water 4. pour dat on the car 5. no need to scrape ice or ANYTHING anymore. |

sure it'll freeze other parts but now you dont need to get ur windsheild wipers unstuck; and your window(s) will be clear. |
