Gotcha. I'll send you a PM and we can discuss more options. I'm fairly certain we have a pretty strong foundation on how we can improve your power output very nicely.

So tell me: what about the Apex'i (or any other recommendation) makes sense? Or makes no sense, given the sarcasm of your post?

If you go Ace from header to exhaust (assuming you are including front pipe), wouldn't that defeat OP's purpose of reducing noise and drone?

Tell me how a full header/OP/FP setup with no resonators would sound with a catback? Any catback?

I don't need to have a supercharger on my car to know what exhaust components do on this car.

The most important factor when it comes to sound on our cars is the size of the resonator. If you have straight-through components on the header or front pipe side, the exhaust system must overcompensate for this lack of sound suppression. If you ran straight through with stock exhaust, it will sound like a weird buzz or rattle when you are under WOT.

If OP wants to retain a catalytic converter, the options are limited to catted header or catted front pipe. Given that most of the catted front pipes on the market don't have a large enough resonator, the choices are very VERY limited.... so Apex'i or HKS would be a good start considering a high quality system.

If OP doesn't care about a catalytic converter, the best bang for buck would be something like Tomei UEL (or equivalent) and Fujitsubo front pipe (or equivalent). I only suggest Fujitsubo because the resonator is large enough to do something.

But if we are limiting the discussion to people with actual experience, then yes, only one person's opinion matters.

Spending $2500 on a header, over pipe and frontpipe makes zero sense, when you can get the most proven header, and OP out there for $1500, and still have $1000 to spend on any front pipe you want.

Oh, I guess that the ACE exhaust must not pass Laguna noise limits? I must be, and ACE must be entirely wrong with their development of that system.

See above. But, again, you must know better than myself and ACE. From ACE's product description of their catback "Designed for <90db at 6,000rpm measured 30ft and 30* offset withh full Ace catless system"

Thanks for the snarky remarks. I read your original comment as "header up to exhaust" and didn't know you were talking about the Ace exhaust as well included in this entire setup.

In cole's defense, the full ACE exhaust, catless and all, is super quiet with zero rasp. Their cat back is top notch.

Yeah, I just realized the exhaust was put up for sale but it was bunched into 30 pages of replies in the original "high HP low DB" thread.

I knew they were developing it but didn't know it was for sale already. Probably useful if these things were made clear.
