Once my audio is connected, I don't have any other issues with the bluetooth. Also, I can pause the music playing through my phone speakers using the head unit's button. Odd, but I've gotten used to it.

I found a sequence to get it to play audio through the cars speakers too.

(1) Start music on phone (audio comes out of phone)
(2) Hit pause on head unit (audio pauses)
(3) Hit play on head unit (audio starts playing through phone)
(4) Spam pause on head unit (nothing happens)
(5) At some point when spamming the pause button, the audio will start playing through the car's speakers & the button actually pauses the music.
(6) Hit play again and everything's good to go
