Count me in if it does stick at that price point. Otherwise I'll just go "B Is For Build" style, except I would probably have to do 4 or 5 versions before I got them close to showable.

I got curious as to these numbers a while back. As of September, (these are just FR-S numbers) only about 60 - 70k were sold since release.

EDIT: Sorry, as of June 2016, only 58k were sold. So 60k is probably close. Here's some pretty graphs.

Awesome Thanks! Was wondering about this...

For comparison...
Ballpark figures, since mid 2012 (when FRS was released), ford sold 400,000 mustangs, just in the US. Plus another 26,000 in Canada.

Another thing to consider (which is why I looked this up) - the S30 Z-cars, which are of the same spirit, sold more annually than the FR-S has ever sold. Which is mind boggling.

Dunno--could probably wipe off the snow easier since it's not packed onto glass

I'm totally digging this too like others in this thread. I too want it to stay close to the mustang pricing so that it's able to be more of an impulse purchase.

True, but the heated windshield becomes useless. Curious to see how this turns out. I could always just take it off during the cold months.

Actually not. It still will unfog the glass, which is all it is really intended for.

Let me know soon if this does come happen. I'm really planning on just biting the bullet and acquiring them from Japan parts. I think the total is above $1100.

Same.

In what year, though? I know the numbers for the 240's didn't break 60k. 70-73 is four years, about how long we've been in production. Granted, they still sold more in those years.

There's a lot of factors in on this, of course, but overall...I just think they did a garbage job of promoting this car in the US.

Are you comparing Z cars worldwide production to Twins North American numbers.
