New potential rear louver source
All,
Over the last couple weeks I have been throwing around the idea of bringing in a set of TRD louvers for my car. One of the local companies to me (MRT Performance) in Michigan makes aluminum louvers today for the domestic market (Mustang, camaro, etc.). I discussed with the owner and they are interested in bringing a louver to the market if there is a market for it. Typically their louvers fall in the $500-$600 range. If you are interested, can you please vote in the poll? I will point MRT to this as a show of general interest for the product. FYI I am not in any way associated with MRT; this is just a part I am interested in as well for my personal cars. Some key points about their current louvers:

does that act like a cheese grater for the crowds and slices them into pieces on the mustang?

If they could make it like or similar to the original TRD louvers, I'd be interested.

When the TRD ones came out and it was obvious they weren't coming to the US I reached out to Willpak Industries that I knew made them for pony cars as well as several Japanese models but couldn't get anyone to return my call. They make both metal and formed ones similar to the TRD (see below). I sent some emails and made a few phone calls but couldn't find anyone there willing to talk to me (I was seriously considering trying to arrange a group buy). http://www.willpak.com/wp-content/th...stributors.jpg |
I would absolutely be interested. And just like this guy above I would buy. I really prefer the metal louvers and if the shop is willing, Id love to order some.:happyanim::happyanim::happyanim:

I love louvers. I am totally interested. I am also a realist. The price of the mustang louver is due to the expected volume the manufacture will sell.
Ford sold 53,000 mustangs in the first 6 months this year. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Twins do not have those kinds of sales numbers. If the company decides to make a Louver for our cars, it probably will be priced very close to the TRD one from japan. I love that it is made in USA, aluminum, and easily hinges. :w00t: |
I would be interested in purchasing louvers. I've always wanted them, but hated how the TRD ones have that cutout at the bottom. I know it's for the 3rd brake light, but I moved my 3rd brake light to the top of the rear windshield so that cutout would be there for no reason for me. I just want more options lol

I would love louvers but a lower profile and more slates than the ones on the 'Stangs shown. The fewer and larger slates look fine on the Mustangs but would be clunky against our car's lines. If they can tone them down a bit closer to the TRD I would be in for sure. |

Noted. I sent this feedback to MRT this morning. Keep voting guys! |
Count me in as well please. Thank God for the Tapatalk updates for popular threads. I would also like to see them designed like the TRD version for the reasons Tcoat mentioned.
