The FR-S definitely feels more purpose-built than the AE86, which started life as an 85hp RWD economy hatchback/coupe and modified into a sporty RWD economy hatchback/coupe. The seating and shifter position remind me a lot more of my MR2 than the AE86. The general concept remains though: pure, simple and effective.

Usually you can almost completely get rid of the lag in the throttle response with an aftermarket tune. I don't feel that it is as bad as in my wifes Yaris, but it is definitely there.
