considering you're in California (Kalifornia) then your best bet to avoid any trouble with the police is to just get a drop-in filter. I have the Perrin drop-in and it's a great piece. anything else aside from a drop-in MIGHT get you into trouble. I am not sure whether the inlet tube counts as an emissions modification but an intake certainly does and is illegal unless it is CARB certified.

Where I live they are pretty chill about that... L.A is pretty bad a lot of Mexicans and Asians showing off how loud their civics sound Sound... but don't know how to drive them lol.... I might get a lot of grief for what I just said but oh well lol

Leave it stock or if anything try the HKS double resonated. Just be prepared to seel it if you don't like it lol
