@Vracer111 : i'd rather prefer if we had conversion kit that would convert our shifter to sequential ones from H pattern. That would be "ultimate" in my book. (except of course stright cut gear sequential transmission that is made such from beginning and probably would cost as much that i won't be able to afford it).

But nothing, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, compares to the CAE Ultra shifter for the 86 though... it is the ultimate shifter for an 86 using the stock transmission...PERIOD.

What broke? Was it the shifters fault?

I really wanted to buy a nice weighted one, but the ones I want will burn my hand during the summer...

Recently discovered they have sock covers for it. If I don't put my sunshade up the Florida heat bakes it and I can't drive it for a bit.

The pin that connected the linkage to the CAE shifter sheared...was my fault for not properly installing and verifying the pin was not seized on the shift stick, which it actually was...I'm going to weld a custom made pin and use a brass bushing, making sure there are proper tolerances this time.

I have a thread in the DIY section for install of the CAE shifter that goes through the whole experience so far...
