Seriously. It was the gas mileage. Right? Right? Come on. Spill it. What was the real reason? Payments too high?

Just curious. Welcome back.

Similar...

I found a garage queen 2007 C6 and that is now taking care of my "Kick-ass-off-the-line" desires as well as handling that is pretty good (OEM).

But, when I get back into the FR-S and toss it into a turn with the revs up where they should be, I'm in a different "happy place."

I almost did the new Camaro SS route... but the newly-used C6 hit the radar and I'm really glad it did. But... the FR-S is the DD cuz I love how it handles!!

I traded a 2014 Mustang GT with Track Pack and cloth Recaro's for my 2016 FR-S. Aside from power, that car was horrible, especially the build quality. It was literally broken from the factory (leaking radiator) and just went downhill from there. The Recaro's started fraying and wearing on the edges after several 1000 miles. It was ridiculous. Drove like a tank too. Sure was fast though. Holy hell it was fast. 5.0 Coyote engine revving to redline is like a siren song. But that gets little use when I had to daily drive it in rush hour to and from work.

Don't miss it at all.

This had nothing to do with the price of the car, gas or mpg. It is not a guessing game There are just loads of small reasons.
If any one money related item, price of tires was twice as much as an FRS. But I was far from needing them and had two sets of forged rims and Bridgestone RE71r.
FWIW the car took 285/35-20 front and rear. The 1LE is no ordinary Camaro. I considered this car "premoddified" from the factory.

A friend of mine has a 1LE. Amazing car.

Real question: which car had better visibility? lol

Welcome back! Have to say, I'd like my chances against the 1LE at autox, but I've never seen one show up. Actually, haven't ever seen a new Camaro run at all. 1LE would decimate a STX 86 everywhere else though, rather easily.

I think it speaks volumes that you bought a second 86. I'll drive mine at least another 4 years (hopefully) and at that time will probably get a Porsche since I plan on living closer to where I work.

Unless the next iteration of the 86 convinces me otherwise!

I've had powerful Muscle Cars in the past (475bhp Saleen Supercharged Mustang GT, C5 Corvette). I understand the sense of frustration with them - I just realized that for my kind of driving, it was virtually impossible to be a good citizen and utilize anywhere near those cars potentials in most of my driving. They also got to be tiring to tool around town at 1/10ths all the time. I like that I feel like a part of the vehicle with the BRZ, and that running costs are much lower.

I also feel that with my meager driving skills (let's be honest, most of us who buy sports or muscle cars are pretty mediocre performance drivers) - the car suits me better. I can better understand vehicle dynamics and how to drive a vehicle closer to the edge of its capabilities in something like the BRZ than in a super-powerful car.

Also gas mileage.

Welcome back! These cars are special, and I do think that it is a car that people won't realize how special it is until it is either gone, or like many Japanese sports cars before it - becomes overpriced and bloated because people believe they need more POWAH.

It happened with the Z car, I hope it doesn't with the Twins. If it does happen, then I am happy to have the equivalent of the 240Z

If you go the Porsche route, you'll enjoy the rig -- especially if you go Boxster S or Cayman S. But... (and it's a BIG BUTT)... you're not going to like the $275+ oil changes after your checkbook has gotten used to 86 maintenance costs.

LOL so true.
Especially with those pricey 20x10 & 20x11 rims. Pretty much everyone I heard of has curbed theirs including me.

I have this thing because I totaled my Z a couple years back and this was a cheaper car with similar handling that was fun to drive to so i took it
