With that said, you seem like the vehicle will primarily be used for daily driving like myself. In which case, you are limiting yourself with only having one set of extreme performance summer tires with UTQG wear <=200. Personally, I have a daily set of wheels with the Primacy HPs and a second set with the RE11s. This way you keep the miles low for the 200 treadwear tires.
I can only acquire so much at any given moment. I'll start with tires. Then when I can afford them, I'll move the good tires to the good wheels, and drive some MPSS on the stock wheels for DD. When that happens it will be easier to justify the more expensive RE71Rs (which don't have much tread life). For now, as I'm getting closer to 4/32nds every autocross day, I want something that will improve my performance but not break the bank.

Star Specs vs Ventus?

I've used my RE-11A for 27k miles and two track days. I only replaced my rear tires, and they have seen mostly highway use, with some spirited driving.
They are a great daily driver. Looking to buy the same again mainly because of the treadlife. According to the internet, the upgraded version RE-71R is not as longlasting.
