Wait for 2017. Not only you get to choose, you can also get better deal on 2016.

Yeah that's one of the things I'm thinking - get the 2016, be happy for three months, then pissed off for four years after the '17 comes out

I think this is the most sensible advice, IF you want to wait seven more months. But realistically, what is the real difference between the 2016 and the 2017 going to be? Has anyone claimed that there will be big changes for next year? No one. Advice to buy now and be unhappy when the new ones appear is in my view unrealistic, unless you absolutely MUST have the latest spring rate or whatever. Many BRZ devotees will be aghast at this, but: if you could buy a perfectly new 2013, wouldn't you be perfectly happy with it? (Full disclosure: I am completely in love with my 2014 Limited, purchased in October 2015, and I'll bet if you buy a 2016, even next fall, you will be, too.)

Buy now. You won't regret a single thing. Trust me.

Our local dealer had $5K off on left over 2015 last November so you might be able to get a great deal on a 2016 in the fall if there are any left. I just purchase a 2016 last month because I wanted a hyper blue. Otherwise, I would have waited to see what's new on the 2017 model.

Has anybody recommended you wait and then will have a better idea of what to do?

The wait and see approach doesn't keep both options open because my dealer only gets BRZ's on special order - I'm in Jamaica, so there's nowhere else to go and not likely to be a secondhand model of any vintage for sale. So buy now (now=July) means 2016MY, buy later means 2017MY.

I'm leaning towards waiting though.

Wait. If the refresh isn't what you like, you can pick up a pre-facelift on a super deal.
