I'm pretty sure any of the Ultra High Performance options on TireRack would qualify.

The v12s suck. Best all around summer tire for the money are the continental extreme contacts if you dont want to splurge on the PSS. The grip and dry and wet is comparable to the PSS but they just wont last as long.

What's a good in between? If the stock tires are rated 1, and the PSS are rated 10, I'm looking for something rated 3-4. I'm in Southern California. Current wheels are XXR 527 17x8.25 which I think I will keep when I run out my PSS. If not, I'm goign to stick around 17x8.
Wut......
Sounds like you don't know how to drive in the rain(which is typically a SoCal issue)and pretty much over all, blaming the tires.
Also you read wrong if you think PSS are "sticky". Just what part of the "axle" are you worried about?

If you have the clicking sound. You need a new axle nut and pin. Simple as that.

If the primacys are a 1 and the PSS are a 10 on your scale, I'd give the V12 like a 7 or 8 in the dry.
