I decided to drop the rear springs from 500 down to 400. I don't get to the track nearly as often as I want, sadly, and I just can't get the coilovers tuned so that it won't rotate overly aggressively on the street. Had a long conversation with Brian@Karcepts, and decided to try lowering the rear springs down to what Eric started off with. The main issue was that hitting an elevation change with steering input on mild throttle would cause oversteer, enough to require correction. It's not as intimidating on track because you get to use a lot more throttle to plant the rear, plus stickier tires.
Got the car corner balanced and aligned. With somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 tank of gas, plus 190 lbs of driver plus gear, the car weighs 3012 lbs. Code:
837 LF, 823 RF 685 LR, 674 RR Cross 49.9%, 1508 Rear 45%, 1359 |

Just FYI, I had to silicone the holes for the wing endplates or it would get water on the inside in the rain. The only reason I notice is I would take the wing off when not at the track.

Such a great build. Do you have a link handy for the jack point reinforcement?

Pulled the oil pan to scrape off the screen.
Also installed Perrin steering rack reinforcement as well as Jackson Racing anti-dive kit. |

Could I ask how many Kms? Just wondering when to pull off the oil pan. Also, is the Perrin to improve steering feel? Thanks |

Ooo. Someone has more disposable income than I do! Very nice! Given the track time you're getting do you still think the Brembos are worth the cost?

Worth it is subjective. They are to me, but I get why it isn't for most people. I love tinkering with cars and modifying them to what I think is the best version, and enjoying them whether it is street or track, though these days that is mostly street. |

Forgot about an update for these. I installed Cusco rear trailing arms, and the GP Sports trailing arm relocation kit. I really like this mod. It makes the rear feel more compliant with the same spring rate. My car doesn’t lose traction over large expansion joints between this and dropping my rear spring rates down from 500 to 400. It used to be a white knuckle event under throttle hitting certain types of bumps.
I would have just picked up the MCA traction mod (I tried), but they are horribly backordered. I like these GP Sport ones a lot though. No noticeable NVH changes from this. The rear subframe inserts won’t work without some creativity. I think if I drop the sway at mount and compensate with shorter end links it might, but I need to test it. |

When I contacted MCA about when the traction mod will be back in stock, they said they're re-designing it and it's at least a few months out.
I have been looking at the gktech one. It's a bit different in that it lengthens the arm as well as lowering it. I hadn't seen the gp sport one before. |

I looked at the GK Tech kit, and I have concerns about how the front of the traction arm is mounted. It operates at high misalignment, and I would be concerned about maxing out the spherical bearing travel. They mounted it in the wrong direction, IMO. That's straight from GK site. I understand that's full droop, but they didn't specify on what kind of suspension. I'd rather have a traction mod that doesn't introduce this sort of concern. |
