The mounting plate is part of the kit. Everything you see in the pictures is included. Or at least it is in NZ.

Some early posts complain on how expensive this upgrade is, but they obviously don't realise just how much gear is supplied. I think they look great and easy to read when I am on track. Only takes a quick glance to see if things are as they should be.

Oil temp and pressure is a must! The 86's oil temp can get to over 130 deg C on the track in a very short time if you don't have an oil cooler fitted. With mine fitted it never gets past 115 C which is perfect.

If the track has a long sweeper then centrifugal forces will send all your oil to one side of the sump and the pickup tube will be sucking air instead of oil. If the pressure gauge drops you know you are in this situation and then goodbye motor. Without one you will get no warning until the engine seizes and then it's too late. Alternatively, fit a baffled sump.

If all you do is drive around the streets at legal speeds, then none of the above is needed. Personally I like my trackdays and so does the 86.

Hi Tech
May I ask you how to install the water temp sensor attachment?
Can I unplug the hose without take out the coolant?
The hose is easy to cut?

Thank you

I left my car overnight before doing any of the mods, so nothing came out when I cut the hose, however I would recommend you put a container under the hose before you cut it, just in case. Take the cap off the radiator providing the engine is cold so there is no pressure in the system.

I cut the hose (removed a section) with the hose in place and it was real easy with a sharp "Stanley" knife. Not sure what they are called overseas. Then screwed the sensor into the adaptor before fitting the adaptor into the pipe. I didn't have any trouble, but some might want to remove the pipe completely and cut/fit the sensor on a workbench then reattach the pipe to the car. Everyone will have their own preference.

beautiful gauges. might be my last mod. I know this eliminates the head unit but curious if you figured out a way to stream music thru your phone? that's my only hangup on this mod...still tempted lol

Where are these gauges listed? I can't find them on the TRD site. Thanx for any help.

Japanparts is one place. I used Japanparts to get that oil sandwich plate. Going to be using the innovate gauge for pressure/temperature, but I got the sandwich plate in from Japan in about 2 weeks time and it is definitely a quality piece. I'm actually suprised they sell it for only 80 bucks.

So your oil temp was connected through the sandwich plate? Needing a different size adapter or just tap the block. Nice setup by the way! How do you listen to music?

Can you tell me if the wiring for the power is plug and play or if you had to splice the wires in yourself?

I was looking at the instructions online and it looks like it comes with a wiring harness that you plug into somewhere. I'm looking at installing my own gauges and was planning on using fuse taps but if there was some where under the dash you could just plug in an adapter, that would be great.
