Very few people may lean to look below cars to really notice tire width. Yet most common reason for going for wide tires is "for looks". It's not required to be logical.
P.S.
But i dig lightweightness and strength bits though, and if part is not providing them, indeed, why purchase it?

Actually, I'd just like to point out, LCAs are actually quite noticeable. I can't even tell you how many people I've had comment on my Cuscos, even random people with no idea what they even are. Bearing that in mind, I would never go with a bright gold set.

Stock or black SPC arms are barely visible, even if you lie down on the ground:

Yeah, I prefer black, so I'm glad that's what Velox made theirs. I personally hate the bright-colored, visible LCA look. IMHO, it makes it look like the rear bumper is too high, and gives an "exposed guts" look to the car that I'm not a fan of. I like the chassis to be black and invisible.

I don't mind if they're colored as long as they go with your color scheme in general. A well chosen color scheme looks awesome. That said, in some countries, it's best to go stealth because you don't want to draw attention because it's illegal to run them and you don't want people looking too closely.
