While researching the Torqamp online I ran into this forum:
https://www.electrifiedboost.com/thr...ble-to-diy.21/ Looks like the electric supercharger is far from dead after all. |

Fair Warning if you want to use OFT expect LONG wait times. I have the OTS file for the ESC but have not received a revision yet.

So I'm taking WOT pulls for the tune now. It's an insane difference feels like a different motor. In 4th gear it pulls hard from 2k instead of lugging like crazy. I really think electric turbos are perfect for this platform as they provide 2x the torque down low. Also it is very noticable even higher in the rpms. Can't wait to dyno it but butt dyno says it has to be making more than the phantom. To me the e85 ofh and stage 2 was a mild bump and this is a major power increase. Feels like 2.5-3x the bump from catless headers e85 and tune. Im running 93 and honestly I don't think there's any point in e85. It blows tires in 1st and just rips in 2nd-4th. Also this is coming from someone that came off of a 200 hp street bike.
Obviously no comparison to the crotch rocket but it gets the job done for me and I don't want more. I have 50 extra hp at the flip of a switch with my wet nitro and I don't know if I will ever use it. Very happy with the results feels like a different engine. |

Glad to see we have a new true believer. Welcome to the club. It's a very exclusive club.
Can you do a log on the OFT? Record Boost, Atmospheric pressure, Temperature, RPM and Speed. I usually do a third, forth, fifth gear full throttle run. We can compare the results to my Phantom. Also you will find that the ESC works much better at lower temperatures. |

Here is the datalog I did for openflash. Ambient temps were 105. I don't want to take another one until I get the new map because there is some knock and IAM is not 1. Boost topped out at 5.66psi, it maintained 5lbs or more until 4700 RPM, then steadily decreased to 2psi at 7krpm, and then it dropped to 1.5psi at redline. I read somewhere that the guys at torque amp are working on a larger version. That version might even be able compete with traditional fi. Last edited by Texas2016Frs; 08-05-2023 at 08:19 PM. |

Sure but there has to be something to be said for 30 minutes to reverse to stock and also to be able to turn off the boost on a switch. Personally the biggest benefit for me is that you don't have to be constantly stressing the engine like traditional fi. Also, even if it is the same cost it could end up being way cheaper if someone was going to pay for a shop to install their traditional set up. Also the electric turbo makes more torque where these cars really need it most down low in the rpms. Anyway just my .02. |

Those are some impressive results especially at 105 ambient. I'll bet at 50 degrees you'll get over 6 psi, easy. Whenever you do dyno run it would be fun to see the numbers with the ESC and the NOS. It would be fun for us observers, maybe not so much fun for you if it blows. Maybe you can get in touch with the Torqamp guys and get them to pay for your dyno in exchange for using your results in their advertising. |

I definitely will not be doing nitrous and esc on the Dyno haha. Sounds like a perfect combination to blow up my engine or trans. Would be around 250-260 ft/lb of torque with full load on the dyno... sounds expensive. But I am interested to see what the esc can do on its own. |

My version 2.5 has been running trouble-free for about a year and 1/2. That's probably about 10,000 miles. I have a little problem now but I suspect is just batteries and I have a new set waiting to be installed. One of the main reasons I like the ESC is that my build was January 2014. I don't think I want to push more than five psi through that motor.

Something I would like to try is connecting the Torqamp system up to the Phantom compressor. The thing I like the most about the Torqamp is the power box. I guess it's 48V LIPO batteries with an integrated charger. So that's twice the voltage of the Phantom but half the amps. So they are about equal in power. But the LIPO's are MUCH lighter than the AGM batteries and their discharge rate is incredible. (Which makes them dangerous).
But it looks like the Phantom compressor is larger. During my research when I was rebuilding my compressor I discovered that the speed of a BLDC motor is directly proportional to the voltage. So if my motor runs 40,000 RPM@ 24V it should run 80,000 RPM@ 48V. Right? Yeah Right |

Looks like this is the compressor most people use on the electrified boost forum.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/35190750107...7a91a9bc62f564 22psi max boost. Insane! |
