Any wheels are allowed with widths up to the following: STF, STC, STS, STR (AWD) – 7.5” STX (AWD) – 8.0” STX (2WD), STR (2WD) – 9.0” STU – unlimited I imagine no one would complain if I ran a narrower wheel/tire combo in a higher class (running an 8" wheel in STX wouldn't get me in trouble) and since most of the 16" wheels I'm seeing are 7-8" wide, I'd be fine. The max TIRE width for STX is 265mm, but I'd never try to squeeze a tire that wide on a wheel as narrow as 7". The biggest reason I see for going to a smaller diameter wheel/tire is weight (price being a second point). Many of the 16" wheels are 16lbs each, which is about 4lbs per corner less. THe price point comes in when you compare the price to 16lb 17" wheels. The Sparco Assetto Gara is $130 per wheel in 16", weighs 16.4lbs (16.5-16.6lbs for painted ones); in 17" its $148 per wheel and weighs 18.8lbs. So tires may not be much cheaper, but the weight per wheel and price difference between wheels is where my mind is going. I'm sure tire weights would be similar to 17" ones, soe I'm not likely to lose or gain any weight there unless I go to a noticeably higher or lower profile tire. Are they bumping the minimum treadwear rating up for 2013? I heard that nasty rumor but I wasn't 100% what they were going up to. That may influence my tire pricing dilemma. |

I'm building the system for under $200. Much cheaper than buying the system.

That local shop that I went to had some tips with carbon fiber. Looked nice but would have had to wait a day for them..and I dont like waiting.

I fuc@#$/ swear to god.....
Just came from the car wash. Went straight to my house to see my daughter. Was parked in my driveway.....the only other car that was there left while I was there......she is not admitting anything. Guess it will be homeowners insurance since I was in my driveway. I should just sell this thing and get Tacoma again. Not one insurance claim in over 5 + years and since June my car has been hit three times resulting in two claims. Not once being my fault. Fffffffuuuuu. Sent from my flux capacitor using Taptalk |
