Use in winter with snow ?
Hey guys,
Anyone has had experience with the verus/velox hood vents in winters with snow ? My car is a daily all year round, but goes to HPDEs a couple times in summer. I am thinking of adding those and install the water shields during winter time, or maybe keep them on and remove them when going to hpdes and put the wiskers instead, and then remove them and put the water plates back in when hpdes are done, assuming the operation is just a few bolts and won’t cause hood warping or loosing by have them added/removes a couple times a year. Does this makes sense ? Last edited by falcon_wizard; 07-17-2021 at 08:57 PM. |

I run my verus louvers open year round. Snow isn't an issue. It's just water. It'll evaporate when you warm the car up. The engine is mostly waterproof anyways.

Did you notch the lip around your oil filter? With my VIS AMS hood (with rain guards) it will still catch water and get a bit rusty. Not really an issue but, an annoyance.

No I did not notch my lip at all. I probably should to allow water to drain, but it's already crusty.

For those that do those drive thru car washes…have y’all ever noticed oil temps drop like 20 degrees when water enters the hood? Does this call for concern?

Just installed these. Looks way better in person than in photos.
