I could probably score you an antibody test if you really want to know next week when I get back into work.

I'm just as guilty as the next guy. I grill my wife all the time who knows better when she improperly texts their, there or they're, but who just doesn't care to make the distinction. The woman reads several books a week and can read a page in a book in a third of the time it takes me to read a page, yet she is a lazy texter.

I invite corrections because I am afraid I may be continuing to use something incorrectly, and not because I was typing fast or because it spellchecked incorrectly, but because I don't know better like these examples below, which are painful to read, while still being funny:

Do you mean antigen test? Unless I am mistaken, antigen and PCR tests are for symptomatic people; antibody tests are for people who were once symptomatic, more of a retrospective test.

Quote:
Antibody tests can tell if someone has been infected with COVID-19. But the infected person doesn't begin producing antibodies immediately. It can take as long as three weeks for a blood antibody test to turn positive. That's why it is not useful as a diagnostic test for someone with new symptoms.

From a quote online from Harvard Health. The page wouldn't load though.

I meant antibody. Yes these are only good in retrospect, I was offering in case he was curious to know.

Here is my prescription for you ...........

Maybe I was, but the point is that some "internet god" has no business giving medical advice to anyone.

If you think you have it call your doctor and let them make the call on what you should do, not some clown on a car forum whose advice might get you dead.

And if I spelled something wrong or use improper grammar.....TOO F'n BAD......get over it smart donkey (or is that a mule).

Try to relax man. Maybe you need to see your doctor.

People were advising him to go get tested for being mildly symptomatic, and I was agreeing with him that there is no sense in getting tested if everyone is having mild symptoms and is quarantining at home anyways. Like he said:

Quote:
I spend the money to get tested and what changes?

We are at home and all getting better
I was saying to save his money, as there is no need to get tested in his situation, and that he was right about that; it won’t make a difference.

Then I spoke generally about the typical types of concerning symptoms that would require an ER visit.

Contact tracing is nice, but definitely not necessary, as this thing is too prevalent and people too relaxed for contact tracing to matter much. Cases aren’t the most relevant metric that is being used to determine policies for the US at this time. Better to avoid going outside and contacting others if it can be avoided. If testing can be done via drive-up and free/cheap then go for it. If it is the difference of going back to work or not then go for it. If not then no need to go out when sick unless someone is experiencing more significant symptoms than mild, cold-like symptoms.

FDA authorizes first fully at-home test as more Covid-19 patients are hospitalized than ever before

This is an antigen test that isn’t a send out.

Horray

There is some new strains

What has 2020 got for us for a going away present?

It's getting to the point where covid infects a rabid dog, mutates, the rabid dogs bites someone who has just had the vaccination and some brain eating Zombies ensue

Either that or war with China

Honestly, I would rather the Zombie senario, at there would be a chance of survival
